About the Course

Prepare yourself for the unexpected in the great outdoors or remote work environments with our Remote First Aid & CPR C  + AED w/ Standard/Intermediate First Aid course. Designed for individuals living, working, or adventuring in non-urban areas, this comprehensive training equips you with essential first aid and CPR skills, while also setting you up for workplace first aid training requirements! You’ll learn how to effectively plan, prevent injuries, and provide up to 24 hours of care in remote locations, far from organized health services.

Training takes place outdoors, providing a more physically engaging experience compared to traditional first aid courses, so be ready to get hands-on and build endurance!

Key Details

• Schedule: 22 Hours
  • Online Pre Course Work: 4-8 hours, self paced through The Canadian Red Cross Website. Provided students register in advance, you should have at least 2 weeks to complete this component

• • Weekend Courses: Friday evening session* (typically 6-8 PM) + 2 x 10 hour days Saturday + Sunday (8:30 AM start time) * some Friday evening sessions may not be required depending on course delivery method – please refer to your registration email for exact dates and and times of your in person training.

• • Weekday Courses: 3 x 7-7.5 hour days (8:30 AM start time)

• Audience: Ideal for outdoor enthusiasts, remote workers, and individuals in wilderness environments located 2–3 hours from medical care.
• Prerequisites: Participants must be in good physical health.
• Certification:
  • 3-year certification in Remote First Aid & CPR C + AED
  • Standard/intermediate First Aid Certification (WorkSafeBC Approved – Level 2)
  • Digital certificates issued upon successful completion
• Recertification:
  • Online Pre Course Work – 4-8 hours, self paced session.
  • 8-10 hours of instruction
  • Current Remote or Wilderness First Aid certification required
  • If also looking to recertify your Standard/Intermediate certificate, a valid certificate is required.
