First Aid Instructor Pathway
To become a certified Wilderness & Remote First Aid Instructor, you need to:
- Be at least 18 years old.
- Hold a valid Canadian Red Cross participant-level certification in the relevant discipline.
- Successfully undergo a skills evaluation.
- Attend the discipline-specific classroom component.
- Complete the teaching experience at your desired course level.
Instructor Certification
Certifications are valid for three years and align with the courses you intend to teach. Certification options include:
- Remote First Aid Instructor (RFAI): Certified to teach Remote First Aid.
- Wilderness First Aid Instructor (WFAI): Certified to teach Remote First Aid and Wilderness First Aid.
- Wilderness First Responder Instructor (WFRI): Certified to teach Remote First Aid, Wilderness First Aid, Wilderness First Responder, Oxygen Therapy, Airway Management, Basic Life Support, and First Responder.
